Getting Here
Everything you need to reach us easily, and to be comfortable once you are here.
By air
Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). About an hour and a quarter by road from Amoura Farms, via the DND Flyway and the Noida Expressway. Prepaid taxis, Uber and Ola are all easy to find at the airport.
The airport is in south-west Delhi. The drive to Noida goes across the city by the Ring Road or the Barapullah flyover, then the DND Flyway and the expressway. Keep an hour and a half in the evening rush, and a little extra on early December mornings for the fog.
By train
Hazrat Nizamuddin is the closest big station to the farms, about fifty minutes away. New Delhi station is a little further, about an hour by road.
Many trains from the south and the west stop at Hazrat Nizamuddin, the easiest station for Noida. From New Delhi station, take the Yellow Line one stop to Rajiv Chowk and change to the Blue Line for Noida. For the first day at our home in Mayur Vihar, Anand Vihar Terminal is the closest.
By metro
The Aqua Line runs along the Noida Expressway. Get off at Sector 142 for Amoura Farms and at Sector 145 for Hamlet Farm; both are a short cab ride from the station.
From anywhere on the Delhi Metro, take the Blue Line to Noida Sector 52, walk across to Sector 51 on the Aqua Line, and ride to Sector 142 for Amoura Farms or Sector 145 for Hamlet Farm. The last trains leave before midnight, so do book a cab for the wedding night.
By road
From Delhi, the DND Flyway and the Noida Expressway are the quickest way to both farms. Uber and Ola work well across Delhi and Noida.
Both venues are just off the Noida Expressway, past the Sector 137 and Sector 142 exits, and both have parking. After the wedding, book your cab a little in advance; the expressway is quiet late at night, but cabs can take a while to come.
The weather
Expect about twenty-two degrees in the day, falling to eight or nine at night. The rites are on open lawns and the pheras go on late, so a shawl, stole or jacket over your outfit will be a blessing. Fog can delay early flights and slow down the expressway before sunrise.
What to pack
- A shawl, stole or jacket for the evenings
- Comfortable shoes for the lawns, and flat ones for the haldi
- Clothes you don’t mind getting turmeric on, for the haldi morning
- Sunglasses for the daytime functions
- A power bank. The days are long and there will be lots of photographs.
